Today you’re hearing again from  one of our newest contributors, Nicole Kestenbaum. Nicole is the beauty and lifestyle blogger behind Lipstick & Brunch, and she is  writing for us monthly on all things beauty! Yes, you can consider her the MRG beauty guru.  See below what Nicole has to say about getting all ready for the warm months ahead (or wait a minute, I think they have arrived!?)

Whenever the warmer Spring weather makes its appearance in March in Houston I get too excited because besides being the perfect excuse for brighter lipsticks, it also means I start getting ready head to toe for Spring. Get ready to put your freshest most beautiful face forward with my tips below!

Get That Glow – Face

If your face is lackluster and dull then give it a pick me up with Pixi’s Glam Glow Peel Pads! I apply these daily to my face and neck and the glycolic acid does wonder for your skin: it exfoliates gently, minimizes lines and minimizes the appearance of pores. These pads also contain rosewater for a dose of hydration. To complete the celebrity glow look, use a CC cream with SPF and a bit of bronzer in it like the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+ Illumination™ with SPF 50+. One of my favorite products of all time because it contains anti-aging serum and illuminating particles that won’t make you shimmery–it’ll look like healthy, flawless radiant skin.

Luscious Locks – Hair

Freshen up your do with a haircut and even though a trendy lob (long bob) might not be your thing then moisturize your locks and prepare them for the dehydrating Houston sun. There’s many things that I use for my hair because it’s color-treated but I think one product I can’t get enough of is the Moroccanoil. You would think that my straight hair would soak it up and feel oily but it’s completely the opposite. Morrocanoil i great for all hair types and a little goes a long way to protect your locks. Useful tip: Before hitting the pool or ocean, drench your hair in a hair oil like Morrocanoil to protect your hair. My second suggestion would be to use a refreshing dry shampoo several times a week. I’m currently crushing on the Herbal Essences Cucumber and and Green Tea dry shampoo. Giving your hair a break from washing is great because you let all the natural hair oils moisturize your locks which prevents the dreaded frizz that comes with Houston’s humidity.

When I used to live in Honduras it was so easy to sport a tan year-round but living in Houston, I’ve had to get more creative. One new product, very similar to the pricier St.Tropez In Shower Gradual Tanning lotion is the Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer. It’s the easiest way to give your sin a sunkissed glow and get your body ready for all those Spring dresses and sandals. It’s truly a mess-free concept and it makes tanning easier because it all happens in your shower-just apply the moisturizer after your shower and pat dry when you step out.  For a finishing touch all over your body, I love the Nuxe Golden Shimmer Multi Use Dry Oil which makes your skin glisten and your legs as sexy as JLo’s without feeling oily or greasy.
