One of the exquisite pieces of  Bvlgari’s exhibit is from their “en cabochon” collections; this age-old technique of rounding and polishing was embraced by the jeweler to become a hallmark of the Bvlgari brand

How to Stay Cool While Gifting Yourself With a Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience…

As the summer heat continues to soar in the Texas area, we are all looking for a cool recluse to get away from it all.  There is no finer treat in town than to gift yourself with the treat of visiting the Bvlgari exhibit at the Museum of Natural Science in Houston.  Bvlgari and the Museum have jointly staged this exhibit showcasing Bvlgari: 130 Years of Masterpieces, an exhibit of approximately 150 sizable pieces of jewelry from Bvlgari’s Heritage Collection, taken both from corporate headquarters in Rome and private collections.  Personally, I was unable to make it when it first opened in May but after a private viewing last week for myself and my team, I learned so much and am more excited than ever to share this incredible experience with everyone. It opened in May but you have until October 5, 2014 to visit and I expect a mad rush there toward the end, as it is truly something not to be missed!

Why Houston?

“Because the Houston Museum of Natural Science is home to one of the finest collections of natural gem crystals in the world, I have a deep appreciation for the quality and diversity of the gems that Bulgari uses when creating their jewel masterpieces,” says Joel A. Bartsch, president of HMNS. Also, necklaces of two of Houston’s most celebrated icons will also be on loan for the exhibit…those of Lynn Wyatt and Joanne King Herring. Bulgari USA President, Alberto Festa, was quoted as saying “Houston and Bulgari have enjoyed a romance with each other. Texas women embody the same qualities of beauty and strength that inspire our designs, and the newly renovated store in the Galleria will reflect that symbiotic relationship.”  Please also visit the new store on Level II of Houston’s Galleria.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor, clearly Bvlgari’s greatest Ambassador of their Jewels

The Museum and Bvlgari devoted a private room to Elizabeth, her jewels and her films. To quote the Houston Chronicle, who in their early event coverage discussed Elzabeth Taylor and her love for Bvlgari jewels, states, “Richard Burton once quipped that Elizabeth Taylor knew only ONE Italian word:  Bulgari.”
