Christian Siriano….Continues His Path As a Designer For All Women

Fashion Christian Siriano, New York, USA - 11 Feb 2017Houston favorite, Christian Siriano, delivers another diverse but luxurious collection within the elegance of the Plaza Hotel

Watching NYFW from my favorite front row seat this season,  live in front of my laptop computer, I am finding many things of interest in what I am seeing.  As Vogue fashion writer, Janelle Okwodu has been quote as saying, “the democratization of luxury appears to be the recurring them in fashion this season.”  Not being there to see each and every collection that hits the runways, I feel this has got to be a true description from just what I’ve observed online.  No one has or will continue to do that better than Christian Siriano who has always taken that one step further. He shows a mix of affordable collaborations and limited edition pieces with proceeds going to ACLU, addressing the political situation that is so hot on everyone’s mind with a desire for attainable fashion which he does his way, which he has cemented as his signature…..future red carpet looks shown with Payless Shoes (a shoe collection that he designs for them!)

This Fall Collection which was inspired by a trip he made to Nevada’s Valley of Fire State Park, features the colors that dominate the beauty of that region and its breathtaking sunsets. Copper metallics, touches of silver, monochromatic shades from rust, to clay and dessert rose. Styles were sumptuous in beautifully opulent fabrics of velvet, satin, metallics, and fur, many were artfully embroidered, layered in fringe and full of dazzle!

Below some of my favorites from this multi-talented designer….(also take note of the diversity in size and race of all of the models used, no one does it better than Siriano)

One of the pieces that received much buzz at the Siriano show was this graphic T-shirt designed by his husband, Brad Walsh and worn on the runway by Jasmine Poulton….a $25 t-shirt that benefits ACLU and is reported to have been sold out on the website since the show. Brad Walsh has told many that are requesting and actually demanding they make more that there are some still available on another website.
