Do You Have Your RED On?!

The day is here, Friday, Feb. 4th is National Go Red Day, however, since we here in Houston had an “almost-snow day”, the American Heart Association moved the festivities to celebrate this symbolic  day to Tuesday, February 8th at Discovery Green.

If you are wearing RED today, and anyone other than your children or pets see you it in outside of the warm comfort of your own home, that’s the spirit! You rock! However, Tuesday at Discovery Green, you must be there in your best RED frocks to show your support for all that AHA is doing to combat this #1 killer of women. Have some fun and show up at Discovery Green at 1:00 p.m. for the Go Red For Women kick-off and please wear something RED!  You will see an awesome exhibit of 48 dresses that will be on display at Discovery Green for the month of February.  These dresses signify the number of women each hour that die of heart disease around the world!

Macy’s, National Go Red Retail Sponsor will offer all day savings, Feb. 2-6 to anyone in store wearing RED.  More info at www.macys.com.

Hotel ZaZa has identified the month of February (2/1 thru 2/28) in both Houston and Dallas as Falling in Love with American Heart Association month and will be offering specials throughout the hotels to raise awareness and funds for National Heart Month. Weingarten Realty, owner of River Oaks Shopping Center is hosting An Evening of Fashion and Shopping at ROSC and a Heart Discount Card that will all benefit AHA. (more details to come on this grand event but you can purchase tickets or cards right now by going to www.ahariveroaksfashionshow.org.

February is Heart Month and RED is the color of Hearts, so start this Friday, showing that you care about Heart Disease.
