Houston’s Drybar No. 2 Opening Week….Let the Fun Begin!

AlliStyling_2Owner and founder Ali Webb, in Houston to celebrate the second and much anticipated opening of the River Oaks location, had a week that started and ended with lots of fun partying.

For Alli Webb, the longtime stylist who founded her first Drybar in Brentwood, California, it was a landmark week for her.  She started the week with a birthday celebration dinner at friend and investor, Janet Gurwitch’s home where there was plenty of celebration going on. For Alli, her joyful mood was obvious. After all there’s nothing like Birthday week for putting any glam gal in a great mood for the week and she and her associates who had come to H-town for this their 41st store opening, nationwide, were sharing that vibe. But to then open the River Oaks shop on Wednesday morning to a packed house of media and Drybar regulars (she did open her 1st store in Uptown Park in 2012) that have become believers, get it and chant her mantra, “No Cuts. No Color. Just Blowouts….and know that’s just what they want!

About Drybar

In case you are not familiar with Drybar, the concept developed by celebrity hair stylist, Alli Webb, provides professional blowouts at a flat price of just $40, regardless of hair length or thickness.  Drybar has become a regular stop for celebrities such as Cindy Crawford, Jennifer Garner, Hilary Duff, Maria Shriver, Renee Zellweger and many more.  The concept behind the brand is taken from exactly, how they derived their name…..from a Bar and their selection of styles offered, reads much like a cocktail menu.  As you will see from samples below, there is the Cosmo, the Straight Up, The Southern Comfort (a Houston favorite, big hair, lots of volume, of course), the Mai Tai, the Manhattan, the Dirty Martini and for the little ladies, what else….a Shirley Temple.    Take a look below so you will know exactly what to order when you stop in and you must try some of their products, all named with libations in mind and if you are unsure or just in a gifting mood, then try a gift card, shaped in what else….but a coaster! The cleverness goes on and on and most is done in their signature buttercup yellow color!

If you haven’t been you must try and if you’re an inner-looper, they’ve heard your cry and have come to you. Alli, after all is a very smart lady and has many awards to prove it. To name a few, “100 Brilliant Ides of 2010”, NY Mags, “Boom Brands of 2013”, was named one of 100 Most Creative People in Business in 2013 by Fast Company, as well as the Fortune 40 under 40 list to name a few.  Also, if you are a Letterman fan, like myself, you may have heard Dave spouting her brilliance to have created this thing called “DRYBAR” that he said was “absolutely brilliant” while chatting with Juliana Marguilles just weeks ago.

So have fun and follow the video below as we walk you through the doors to the River Oaks Shop on opening day……we all had such fun. The music was rocking to DJ and sis-in-law Sarah Landau’s tunes, Alli was teaching tutorials to her peeps and then they were all gone….back to L.A. to celebrate Alli’s big B’day with her family and friends.

All together a good week and a bright hope for new beginnings at the corner of Westheimer and Kirby….at last!
