Fashion Sneakers…Much Cooler Styles Than They Used to Be!

For quite a long time now, I’ve felt that sneakers were meant solely for physical activity. Put the sneakers on right before the workout and take them off immediately post-workout. While I do feel that certain sneakers are still just meant for the gym, I now can’t help myself but love so many of the fashion sneakers out there today. Throw them on with a pair of skinny jeans, a stylish tee, some fabulous accessories, and off on my Saturday afternoon errands I go. Put a colorful pair on with a cute little workout outfit, and my workout routine is instantly amped up a notch. Gym sneakers have changed, my friends.

Lucky for all of us, there are some fabulous brands out there today (and more coming on board recently) that are making sneakers, fashion. From slip-ons, to lace up, to high top, to wedges and to sporty, in every color, pattern, and fabrication under the sun, you are sure to find one that suits your every need.

If you’re just starting your transition over into the world of fashion sneakers, start with a more simple lace up style, in a solid color.

If you’re feeling a bit more ready to dive into the trend, go for different fabrications or try a slip-on.

Miu Miu & Prada

If you like a more sporty look, but don’t necessarily plan on wearing your fashion sneakers to the gym, try ones that are still functional and sturdy, but with an edge.

Tretorn & Warrior

If the gym is your thing and you need a true athletic shoe, there are some fabulous options for you, as well. Color color color.

New Balance & Nike

And if you are daring and want to jump in head first to the streets then rock the high tops, great with skinny jeans or leather leggings of Fall.

So, the must have purchase for this season is a pair of fashion sneakers. Go for a simple, colorful pair or pull out all the stops with an embellished little number. Whether you are off to the gym, a run in the park, coffee with friends, running errands around the city, or a casual lunch or dinner, stylish kicks are a great option for footwear. They are comfortable, cute, and add a little spunk to any old ensemble.

LAST MINUTE NOTE FROM ROZ:  At Neiman Marcus last night checking out the shoe department and saw where the high-end guys are into this trend also.  There were fashion sneakers from Chanel, Gucci and Prada and the shoe salesperson told me that more were coming as more of the summer clearance was sold off the sales floor…….can’t wait, loved what I saw!
