The opening will be here before you know it for Florescence, one the nation’s largest competitive flower shows at Museum of Fine Arts Houston, April 25-26

For the past few months gardeners and floral enthusiasts around the country have been readying for the opening of Florescence, on of the premier flower shows in the country.  The show will be held again at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston on Tuesday, April 25 and Wednesday, April 26 and is presented by The Garden Club of Houston, The River Oaks Garden Club and the Museum of Fine Arts.  The theme of the 2017 show is “Waves,” reflected in all of the exhibits on view.  There is a special conservation exhibit as well, entitled “Water, Water, Everywhere” created to increase awareness of how choosing native plants can improve water quality.

Florescence is more than flower arrangements, it’s an exploration of decorative arts,” commented Sara Ledbetter of the Garden Club of Houston. Florescence chairman Carole Bailey of the River Oaks Garden Club comments that “Over the past 24 years, Florescence has grown into a remarkable event that can be enjoyed by all.  We are happy to share our passion the community and highlight the creativity of club members while raising awareness about water conservation through the Waves theme.”
