In Case You Missed the Show…..Simon Fashion Now 2012

With a joyful family commitment calling me away to NYC, I unfortunately missed the Simon Fashion Now show this season and asked TCS Beauty Contributor Trish McGill Boland to make that scene for me and the following is her recap of some of the great fashions of the night…..

With summer temperatures making an early debut this year we’ve all been eager to update our closet with some new wardrobe essentials.  Thankfully our favorite designers reached out to us by way of the Simon Fashion Now event at the Galleria, presented by Cadillac on April 12-14.  Whether you were in the mood for something long and flowing, short and structured or bold and bright – the best of summer fashion answered your request.

Saks Fifth Avenue opened the show on Thursday evening with a playful take on fire and water, showcasing complimentary hues of ocean blue and lava red.

Saks, St. John, Max Mara

St. John and Max Mara both favored neutral color palettes with touches of oceanic blues while Jimmy Choo offered a fun and bright assortment of playful heels and handbags in the season’s hottest colors, shapes and prints.

Jimmy Choo, Carolina Herrera, Fendi

Carolina Herrera had a sophisticated approach with tailored gentlemen’s looks and an array of ladylike styles, whereas Fendi’s structural ensembles stood out with a mix of shapes and textures.  Worth mentioning were the delicate peek-a-boo details and shoulder cutouts juxtaposed against bold stripes.

Giorgio Armani delivered a heavy dose of metallic ranging in shades of pewter and taupe set against otherwise black and white styles while Ferragamo (which happened to be my personal favorite) sizzled with flowing maxi dresses and a must-have jumpsuit in bold, island colors and color-blocked effects perfect for a chic summer getaway.

Giorgio Armani, Salvatore Ferragamo, Neiman Marcus

Neiman Marcus closed the evening’s runway show with the perfect mix of volume-infused styles and warm weather prints that had us all dreaming of our next vacation.
