It’s Friday in a City That Never Stops….What a Week It Has Been!

I am fortunate to get invited to so many great events that happen all week long that I can’t ever make them all, but am making the effort to share the ones that I did with each of you.  Hope you were there too and enjoyed it with me!

Houstonia Magazine Launch Party……

Publisher and native Houstonian, Nicole Vogel, hosted several hundred of her closest friends and acquaintances for the party of parties, last Saturday night at Silver Street Studios.  The first edition of Houston’s newest magazine (cover shown above) hit the newsstands on the 28th…..enjoy it, you’re in for a treat!

St. Luke’s Friends of Nursing Luncheon and Tootsies Fashion Show featuring David Peck….

Always love this event that not only shows the latest fashion trends, but highlighted our town’s David Peck,  and very importantly showcased the amazing nurses from St. Luke’s that were allowed to strut their stuff on the runways in Tootsies fashions.

Hats Off to Mom Luncheon, benefiting Easter Seals Foundation with Fashions by Saks Fifth Ave……

This Hats Off to Mom Luncheon, honored many of my favorite Moms around town:  Debbie Greenbaum, Gracie Cavnar, Julie Brown, Ursaline Hamilton, Judy Nyquist, Gina Bhatia, Wendy Dawson, Robin Klaes, Beth Muecke and Ginny Simmons.  Another lovely excuse for Houston’s fashion dolls to showcase their pre-Easter bonnets!

Czar by Cesar Galindo P.A. and Trunk Show at Tootsies, following his Handbag Launch at Sloan-Hall…

Houston native and NYC success made a couple of appearances in town this week to showcase his newest apparel and accessories.  I stopped in to Tootsies, loved the new direction of his line and purchased two dresses for my very own.  Good luck, Cesar!

FGI Houston Presents Meet the Press Panel at Barbara Davis Gallery…

FGI Presented a panel discussion of many of Houston’s favorite journalists: Christina Uticoone, Houston Press, Catherine Anspon, Paper City; Kristina Braley, Pretty Shiny Sparkly Blog; Maggie Flecknoe, the Dish on CW; Alexis Jones, Great Day Houston and moderated by our own uber fashion journalist, Joy Sewing, Houston Chronicle.  Made for a spirited, honest and enjoyable two hours of sharing pointers with the group. My daughter, Nicole Pactor Graham, @TheGardenHen was my guest and left with many good ideas for her newly-found business.  Thanks FGI team and Panelists for a great evening!

Simon Fashion Primavera Fashion Show……

Just as the Galleria & Cadillac presents Simon Fashion Now in September, for Spring it’s their Kick-off of the Primavera Flower Show that brings out the most now fashions from the Galleria’s finest stores.  This year’s event on the pool deck of the Westin Oaks Hotel, featured a private VIP cocktail hour by Houston Modern Luxury Magazine, followed by cocktails and a show for all. Lovely evening outdoors, even if the wind and chill was slightly brisk….the fashions from Saks, Fendi, Ferragamo, Jimmy Choo, Zegna, Max Mara, Carolina Herrera and Neiman Marcus divinely warmed up the crowd!

    1. The Garden Hen is a business that my older daughter, Nicole Pactor Graham, has started where she grows backyard chickens and quails, sells organic eggs, will build custom chicken coops and provides a service to urban chicken owners that helps them and teaches them how to care and feed their chickens. It’s a very hot business right now…..trendy in a different kind of way! If interested in any of these services check her out on FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
