If you are one of the many Houstonites that is lucky enough to spend these sweltering summer months rejuvenating your body and soul in cooler climates such as Colorado, you are probably reading this from what has become the most popular playground for the rich and famous….Aspen, Colorado. If you are there, you know that with so many Houstonians making this their summertime home away from home, many of Houston’s charities, shop owners and fashion designers, such as Jonathan Blake, are making their way up to where the people are and all of the cool fun is and planning all kinds of great activities for the Houston/Aspen part-time locals.
Our own Mistress of the Velvet Slipper Divine and client of Jonathan Blake’s, Vivian Wise, is hosting H-town’s Designer to a round of parties and private showings of his spectacular new Fall Collection to many of the social set from here that are chilling in the mountains. A percentage of the sales in Aspen will be donated by Jonathan to Lucky Day Animal Rescue of Colorado, which goes directly to saving the animals.
Since Air-Streams are not allowed within the town of Aspen, Vivian begins her weekend of festivities by opening her own family home in in Starwood Estates on Thursday evening, August 14 from 6-8 p.m., for some of the festivities, that I hear have an ever-expanding guest list that is including about 100 guests from Aspen, New York, Los Angeles, as well as Houston’s finest.
Fun times continue on the 15th, with a unique, star-studded event at Bootsy Bellows where celebs such as Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez and Celebrity Stylist to the likes of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, Johnny Wojack, will be jetting in for a guest appearance. It doesn’t end there…on saturday, August 16th, Wise will host a Jonathan Blake trunk show at Bloomingbird’s, known to most Aspenites as a high-end shoe store, which is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All of this fabulous fun, will come to closure on Sunday August 17th with a private farewell dinner party that Ms. Wise is hosting at the Caribou Club. All sounds divine, of course, and my only regret is that I will not be there to see it all!
