It’s finally official! Planet Blue has just opened its gorgeous neon green handled doors to the public on Wednesday evening. Payton and I were there enjoying the flowing margaritas, cute bites including pop corn (my favorite!). The atmosphere was kept in tune by the DJ, I could hear the soft beats walking towards the store in the River Oaks district seeing all the new customers mingling and showing off their new purchases. The party was hosted by Houston own Frasier Lipton of Frasier Sterling Jewelry.

We were lucky enough to be introduced to one of the owners who was in town for the opening, James Williams. James owns the ever expanding brand with his wife and designer Ling-Su Chinn. She has designed an exclusive line called Blue Life, her pieces are scattered throughout the modern store. This store also houses designers you might already be aware of such as For Love and Lemons, Jen’s Pirate Booty, Stone Cold Fox (Love!), Wildfox and Minnie Rose.

James described Planet Blue as the original bohemian chic brand. He went on to say it’s not your typical bohemian look with structured pieces, ” Planet Blue ladies don’t play by the rules when it comes to Fashion”. He said they have been in very high demand in certain areas and they are looking to expand from their current 12 stores to 20 by the end of the next year looking into locations such as Chicago and Denver.

I absolutely loved nearly everything in the store, I was easily loading up my wish list basket. I especially fell in love with their more cocktail-esque-chic see-through detailing dresses which you could purchase in Nude, Blue or Burgundy. Payton instantly picked out a cute off-white lace skirt and crop top.

Planet Blue houses silhouettes including short and long dresses, leopard print faux fur jackets (great timing for winter and very much in-line with Fall Runway collections) fashion forward sports attire, cosy knitted cardigans, simple tees with some edge and the most exquisite jewelry.   Sticking to fall colours such as blacks, burgundy’s, and prints, Planet Blue is staying very much fashion forward with flattering designs for every body shape. Retail prices range from $60 – $480

After enjoying a glass or two of margarita, engaging with the owner, cooing over the shop floor girls outfits showing off the designs beautifully adding their own personal flares to the outfits, then picking out all of the things I feel would look perfect in my wardrobe and imaging where I would wear it all I came to the conclusion that the Planet Blue girl is a cool-boho-Coachella-chick – someone who loves fashion, isn’t afraid to mix trends and pieces and confidently pulls them off. I realized there and then I wanted to be this girl!

If there is one thing you need to do this weekend it’s checking out the new hot spot in town in person, or alternatively previewing the looks at Planet Blues website. They currently have a sale of 30-70% off plus lots of new styles!
