River Oaks District Newest Additions….It’s All About the Eateries!

We all know about River Oaks District by now, and we’ve certainly fallen in love with Houston’s most glam shopping center. And what we’re really excited about now are all the restaurants that are opening up. These new dining destinations are some of our favorites, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

Taverna Pizzeria & Risotteria

What if we told you that you could feel like you’re dining in Italy without having to leave Houston? While you won’t be sitting by the sea in Portofino, you will be eating authentically delicious Italian food in a warm and inviting neighborhood feel, Taverna. With other locations in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Mexico, and Laguna Beach, Houston is the newest spot for the Lombardi group to land.  We’re thrilled to welcome this fantastic little slice of Italy into our city and what makes it even more special was to taste the many dishes created by a former Houston favorite chef of Hotel Granduca, Renato Depirro, who has been taken on as the Lombardi group’s Executive Chef over all 14 restaurants.

Toulouse Cafe & Bar

And then there’s the Lombardi Group’s second entry into the Houston market with Toulouse, which will instantly take you to a street side Parisian cafe, a sophisticated French brasserie atmosphere with divine food and the most stylish crowd. Based in Dallas and now Houston, you’ll find the freshest of ingredients on this menu to make the best of French fare. While the Eiffel Tower might not be in your distance, you’ll still feel oh so Parisian when you’re here.

Steak 48

Swanky and sultry, Steak 48 might just be your new favorite neighborhood steakhouse. The atmosphere is high energy and sophisticated, and as good as the food, steaks and seafood are, and of the highest quality.  From the awesome ‘raw bar’ choices  to the main course, the sides, and back to the desserts – it’s all to die for.

Hopdoddy

You’ve likely seen the line around the block on S. Congress in Austin, and it’s for good reason. Hopdoddy’s burgers are some of the best, and Houston folks are certainly on board, as we’ve seen quite the line at the brand new location here. It shouldn’t be your choice for eating your healthiest meal, but the burgers, fries, and milkshakes are worth every calorie on those days when comfort is what you’re seeking.  With various locations in Texas, California, Arizona, and Colorado, we’re very excited this newest burger joint has come to Houston.
