It was quite a magical night, when we attended our first ever, Must With Friends event recently at the Hobby Center. It was the 2018 launch of this year’s performances and that night the feature entertainment was The O’Jay’s, three guys who took us back in time to that great Motown era of music that we all grew up with. Such fun!
Having been told in advance to expect a great evening, it definitely did not disappoint. What was so awesome for us was the pre-show cocktail party leading to the performance, as well as the also fabulous after-party. Not only was it a lovely affair but it was such a great mix of people…..many, many that I knew and enjoyed visiting with and loved sharing such a great musical evening with. That is what is so special about this group. It’s a gathering of many of our city’s lovers of music and the arts that enjoy having a great time centered around music.

The O’Jay’s performed for an evening that brought back many great memories and created some new ones as we all took a step back in time to sing along and dance in our seats to their many great hits from the past. The O’Jays are one example of the legendary talents that the Music With Friends group brings to our city that creates such a special musical night for all. The past experience has included an evening with Tony Bennet, Diana Ross, and many others.
Robin and Alex Brennan-Martin are this year’s hosts for what has began as another great year for Music With Friends.
This year’s core team that are busy planning all of the activities and performances for 2018 are member chair, Karen deGuerin, co-founder Larry Farber from Charlotte and this year’s Houston hosts Robin and Alex Brennan-Martin.
