So Father’s Day is behind us and we ladies have all taken care of the Dad in our life and in many cases, I’m sure he received something techie for his big day. Wouldn’t be a surprise if many Dads got iPads, Kindles, Nooks and/or the appropriate cover to accompany it. While the men may have settled on the basics….black or brown leather or maybe a step-up to alligator, we techie women have our iPads too but, as usual, our cover(up)s are all about fashion. Each designer has come up with clever ways for women to look terribly stylish, chic or whimsical…whoever you are, whatever your style, they have a choice for you.
Some of the options start at the highest from the likes of Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberrry and many others…the price range here is from $1,500 to $250-300. However, there are also choices as low as $60 in the Marc Jacobs silicone and approx. $130 in Michael Kors leather. The choices are endless. Name your favorite handbag designer and they have an iPad case for you. Also available are YSL, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, and even Nancy Gonzalez and on and on.

In a recent New York Times article by Stephanie Rosenbloom, titled “Affordable iPad Cases, or Not So”….her lead line is “which would you rather have: three iPads or an iPad case?” I would say the answer is obvious but if you are equally proud of your newest technophile accessory and your sense of style and a match-up of the two is what you’re after, at any price, fear not, the choices are out there for you!

I must add that my intent here is to show how the big fashion houses have risen to the occasion and are so on to this trend. However, if your needs are much more utilitarian and you are looking for options that are water resistant, are carry-alls for travelers, hikers, or nature lovers, there is a choice for you, as well, and the prices are much more reasonable. The message here is choices, if you want an Hermes version to fit inside your Birkin, it’s there for you or a bright colored silicone Marc Jacobs at a fraction of the cost, you can find fashion at every price.
