NY Fashion Designer, Pamela Roland, in town for Spring 2015 Trunk Show at Elizabeth Anthony, kicked off her stay here with an evening runway show event benefiting American Heart Association

About the Designer

Pamella Roland, whose shows I have had the pleasure of seeing in NYFW, can always be counted on to present women beautifully in her designs.  Her multi-generational collection, available at Elizabeth Anthony in Houston, appeals to women of all ages, as the designer commented, “I have clients where I dress three generations…Daughter, Mom and Grandmom.”  As a business woman turned designer, it was fascinating for me to hear of her background in business that she applied to the fashion world that she created, almost on a whim, or a “mid-life crisis”, as the designer noted. She started her business, which she is sole owner of, in 2002 at the age of 42.  Her collection which runs the full range of styles and colors, from lovely and feminine to sexy is often seen on many red carpets. In fact, the day we chatted, she mentioned that Carrie Underwood had just hosted the CMA awards the night before in one of her hot, red gowns and that Angelina Jolie was choosing that day from a selection of three gowns that had been sent over to her. This is only a few of the name-dropper celebrity clients that have flocked to her collection for special evenings.

About Her Spring 2015 Collection

The collection which she presented at Elizabeth Anthony was inspired by the designers time living in Japan. Kioto, Japan was her inspiration for Spring. She said it began with Pre-Fall where she saw women responding so positively to florals and that drew her to the cherry blossoms and zen gardens of Japan that are beautifully interpreted in her colorations and fabric designs for the collection. Her blush pink choice for many of her pieces was so delicate and lovely….especially when presented softly in one of my favorites of the evening, her flowing, flutter sleeve designs. Another favorite was a very modernized black and white “blurred” rose print that she used in many of her pieces. Another unique fabric design was the “web lace” that she interpreted in many ways from a sexy black over nude to the delicate blush tones. The trunk show is packed and gone from Elizabeth Anthony but a look-book of her many designs remains and of course, many styles were purchased by the store and will be there for Spring.
