Ready for a fun night? Recipe for Success’ Dress for Dinner series opens this year with lots of fashion info. and a little gossip from best selling author, Lucy Sykes at Sloan/Hall on September 23rd. The British-born Lucy Sykes has been a high voltage participant in the fashion world for some time now. She is known as a stylist, fashion editor and fashion director. Most recently she was the Fashion Director of the very popular rental brand, Rent The Runway and prior to that for six years at Marie Claire Magazine.
However, Sykes’ most recent endeavor is a novel that she has penned, called The Knockoff. No, it’s not about runway designs being copied for the masses, as we all know the term, but has a very appropriate story-line that speaks to that concept in a clever way and is, in fact, a subject that could be near and dear to my heart! The story is about Imogen, an ‘aging’magazine editor, who confronts the relatable struggle of staying relevant in a rapidly changing technological landscape. Yikes, I wonder where that idea came from?!! (Snapchat anyone???)
