Roka Akor officially opened their doors Monday on the ground floor of  2929 Weslayan’s 40 story luxury high-rise. What a great addition to the Houston Dining Food scene!

Hello all, this is  Vicheka here! I had the pleasure of attending dinner this past Friday night, and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. The food, presentation, and service was impeccable! Our waiter Daniel, was well-knowledged and attentive!  From the moment you walk in until the moment you  leave it is an escape from this dreadful Summer heat and Houston traffic.

This Michelin Guide- recommended restaurant specializes in sushi, steak, and seafood. They offer a steak program that includes: Certified Kobe from Tajima (there is only one other restaurant in Houston that serves this) ,  Certified Miyazaki from Kysho Island, and Certified Shiga from Hokkaido.

From their menu, you can pick from hot (such as Robata Grilled Diver Sea Scallops)  and cold plates (such as Escolar Tataki and Yellowtail Sashimi), nigiri, sashimi( such as Uni and Toro), as well as items from the Robata Grill.

You can also opt for the Omakase,  where you allow the chef to curate a personalized tasting menu for you ( two person minimum).

Don’t forget the drink menu, they have a variety of delicious cocktails such as the Paper Tiger and The Backroom Deal.

And lastly, make space for desserts! Popular items include the Japanese Style Cheesecake and the Tropical Fruit Shaved Ice.
