Times Haven’t Changed for Not a New Idea! Break All of the Old Rules…Wear White After Labor Day

White-Feature

Just like in school, there are ‘rules’ in fashion. While years back these rules might have been followed, that is no longer the case. Julie here today, and Roz and I are all about saying ‘yes’ to previous fashion ‘no no’s’: navy with black (so chic), brown with black, and the infamous white after Labor Day. It’s not that we’re saying to wear your most summer white ensemble into fall and winter, but we are saying that there are loads of ways to wear white well into the cooler months of the year. The Labor Day Rule no longer is written in stone.  Below we’ve gathered some of our favorite shots of ladies in white and we’re showing you ways to wear it for months to come. As well, if you scroll all the way to the bottom you can shop some of our favorite fall and winter white pieces.

Jackets, Blazers, and Coats

A no brainer is a white jacket, coat, or blazer. These are essential items for the cooler months, and a crisp white or off white lends itself to a polished, chic, and classic look. Pair the topper with jeans or any colored pant, including white.

Pants

Like we said, no longer do you need to throw your white pants to the back of your closet once September 1st hits. Move them forward and wear them all year long. You can wear skinnys with fabulous booties, wide leg pants which have also made a comeback, or fitted pants with boots or sneakers.

Sweaters

I’d be surprised if you didn’t already have a white (or off white) sweater in your closet. However, if you don’t, I urge you to purchase one. Pair it with denim, white pants, a skirt or just to lounge around in your house on a lazy, chilly Sunday afternoon.

Paired with Black

White-with-Black

The ever so classic color combo that will never go out of style: black and white. There’s nothing better. A black blazer, white pants and boots or pumps, white pants with a black sweater, and every combination in between. Black and white is just perfection in my book.

Paired with Brown

Another way to wear white into the fall and winter is with neutral shades, such as browns and tans. Whether with accessories, such as a belt or hat, or with sweaters, shirts and shoes. Neutral shades scream fall, and add some white in there, and you will be styling all season long.

Now, let’s break the rules together, and shop some of our favorite white pieces below!
