Runway Beauty Trends for Spring 2018

Valentino and Vogue

Nicole here and I just realized I’ve been writing for a whole year for My Red Glasses! Thank you to Roz and the My Red Glasses team for having me here and allowing me to share what I most love: make-up and beauty.

The Spring season has always been my favorite in make-up and color because it’s the perfect excuse to wear bubblegum pink lipstick or pastel eyeshadow. This year it’s no different but the formulas in lipsticks, eyeshadow sticks and liners are definitely more exciting and easier to use so we can copy the runway looks and take them to brunch with friends in a pinch.

Most of the looks I found from the Spring 2018 runway are very artistic and fun and the make-up I found is meant to help you achieve that easily, at home. I’ve included some Spring 2018 make-up looks from New York Fashion Week for inspiration. Images below from Tom Ford, Tory Burch, Pamela Rowland, Micheal Costello, Carolina Herrera, Dennis Basso, Oscar de la Renta,  Max Mara, Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana.

Chanel Lip Balm and Powder Duo

This lipstick duo is one of the most unusual formulations out there right now. Apply the powder with your finger on your lips for an artistic, stained look on the lips. Use the balm and the powder together to create a more intense look. This limited edition compact can also be used as crème blush for your cheeks.

Lancome Ombre Hypnose Stylus

I can’t wait to get my hands on any of these 15 self-sharpening eyeshadow liner pencils from Lancôme. The waterproof formula ensures precise lines and no feathering which means it’ll last through Houston humidity. I’m in love with the bold, bright shades in this collection and can really attest to the easiness of an eyeshadow stick; I always carry one in my purse and I can easily intensify my look if I plan to go out after a day of running errands. Available in matte and metallic formulas.

Laura Geller Beauty Line and Define Liquid Eyeliner in Black

If you’re into creating the current editorial runway looks, this dual-ended eyeliner is for you! The liner has two tips: a soft and precise tip which makes it easy to draw intense eyeliner looks and graphic dark lines or soft smoky eyes. The obvious shade to choose is black but it’s also available in “Blackberry”, “Navy” and “Teal” which makes brown and hazel eyes pop.

Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation

Every time I look at Bella Hadid the first thing I think about is how gorgeous and moisturized her skin looks. This foundation from Marc Jacobs bottles that youthful glow and quenches dry skin in one step.  This buildable foundation promises to control oil, last 24 hours and shield skin with an SPF25.

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Liquid Crayon

A lipstick crayon is one of my favorite lipstick presentations because you can outline and fill your lips with one same product. The best part of these innovative lip crayons are their 16 hour long wear promise and how they won’t dry or settle into “lip wrinkles.” I’m excited to try out any of their 9 bold shades this Spring!

Le Metier De Beaute Limited Edition Lip Kaleidoscope

I feel brands are urging us to mix and experiment with their formulas, Le Metier De Beaute’s lip kaleidoscope does just that. Their single lipsticks are beautiful gem tones but they’re meant to be mixed and played with to create unique, radiant shades. Gem tones are the most flattering for any skin tone so I’d keep this in my purse at all times to be Spring-ready.

Chantecaille 20 Year Anniversary Palette

These luxe neutrals are rich in botanical ingredients and owner Sylvie, as always, will donate 5% of the profit from sales to be split between The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and The Lion Guardians. Giving back though beauty is a trademark of Chantecaille products. These velvety eyeshadows are the most subdued in this Spring compilation but the rose gold eyeshadows make it trendy and flattering and suitable for any skin tone.

Lancome Mini Eyeliner and Eyeshadow

I’ve never seen a product like this from Lancome! These pastel shades have me dreaming of ice cream and warmer days in Houston. These eyeshadow/eyeliner sticks are highly pigmented and ultra creamy on your lids. These easy, on the go shadows are twist up (no sharpening needed) and a deliver a rich dose of color in one swipe. The formulas are blendable or stunning enough to wear alone.

What product do you have your eye on to brighten up your make-up look this Spring?
