From band tees in the 70s and 80s to logo tees in the 90s and 2000s, graphic and statement tees have long been a closet staple.
With the current political climate and the many organizations and groups taking a stand, it’s no surprise that this trend is back! You can thank Dior (among many other designers) and his “We Should All Be Feminists” white tee for the spike in popularity! It’s Alyssa here and I am talking all about the slogan and saying tees that are making for a popular fall trend.
TIPS FOR WEARING THIS TREND:
1. Dress it up. The “newness” of this trend is all about how you wear it. For 2017, its about pairing statement pieces with skirts, dresses, tailored pants, loafers and heels for a glam vibe.
2. Treat a slogan tee like a plain white tee. Just like a white tee, a slogan tee is such an easy and versatile piece to incorporate into your wardrobe. It makes a great base for any outfit!
3. Express yourself. Be sassy or serious, whatever your mood!
4. Take a stand. Support something you feel strongly about, whether it be a political movement, support for our city and fellow hurricane victims or something as simple as just being kind.
5. It’s not just about the t-shirt. Jackets, bags, shoes, and hats are being emblazoned with catchy sayings and slogans.
All you have to decide is…what kind of statement do you want to make?
