I was first introduced to Sugarfina in NYC on my annual December trip where they were featuring Pop-Ups at just the right time of year for a great holiday pick up gift. I brought some home and shared with family and friends during that festive season with many inquiries as to just what were these little balls of sweetness that tasted like a cookie??? and how adorable was the packaging?!

My intent was then to find out more and so I did my due diligence on this very special taste treat and have it here to share with you today. (As candy is always a great holiday gift for all seasons, I also included the Valentine gift sampling in our Valentine Gift Guide that you may have noticed)

About Sugarfina….It’s a Love Story:

Sweethearts Rosie O’Neill and Josh Resnick dreamed of opening a luxury candy boutique ever since their third date, a screening of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” where they asked each other the simple question, “why should kids have all the fun?” which led them to a quest to create the ultimate candy store for grown-ups. They travelled all over the world, while also falling in love, and found the finest ingredients which led to the creation of a unique candy concept to bring back to the United States. The end result was Sugarfina, a gourmet collection of chocolates, caramels, gummies, malt balls, licorice and many, many more tasty treats, two-thirds of which cannot be found anywhere else in the U.S.

This project took two years for its creators who say about their products that “every candy in our boutique is packaged with love, perfect for giving as a gift or treating yourself.” This beautiful and fun collection is created, after all, by two loving adults who’s youthful approach to this business stems from their background as Rosie’s Director of Marketing for Barbie and Josh who was the co-founder and President of Pandemic Studios, a major video game developer.
