That’s why we’re thrilled to share that one of our favorite spots for coastal-inspired comfort, Hudson House, is opening its doors in the ever-charming Rice Village this Wednesday, May 21st. If the buzz from their River Oaks location is any sign, this one’s about to be the new go-to — and yes, our reservation is already booked!
Located at 2414 University Blvd., right between CB2 and Banana Republic, this new space brings all the signature charm of their River Oaks location — with that classic East Coast-inspired interior we adore. Think white tile, navy banquettes, rich wood details, and light pouring in through big windows — a setting that’s both polished and approachable.
The menu is exactly what you’d hope for: fresh oysters flown in daily, buttery lobster rolls, crispy fish tacos, a classic cheeseburger and a selection of entree salads that has developed a bit of a cult following. Add in beautifully plated sushi rolls, and it’s a little something for everyone — all done with that Hudson House flair.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Hudson House without its cocktail game. From their “World’s Coldest Martini” (yes, it lives up to the name!) to their refreshing Frozen Bellinis and spicy margaritas, the drinks are a standout all their own. They’ll also offer weekday happy hours from 3–6 p.m., which makes it a prime new stop for a late lunch or post-shopping sip.
And let’s not forget dessert — the zesty key lime pie is already an award-winner, and the chocolate silk pie is pure decadence.
