Julie Bortnick here today, of from prosecco to plaid, with some great new writing tools for all of you. My love for paper products is a bit excessive, I’ll admit. I’m not sure what it is, and maybe it stems from when my mom sold invitations out of our house when I was little, but I can’t get enough. So you can imagine my excitement when Roz and I were at the fabulous Shop With Heart Card Kick-off party, hosted by Events owner Regina Garcia, and we came across a gorgeous new paper product line. Atticus Paper hails from South Miami and is now exclusively sold in Houston at Events in River Oaks.
Creative Director and Designer Brenda M. Moreira started Atticus Paper with Partner Atticus Lyon in 2011. Her foray into design started when she opened her first retail store 20 years ago where she stumbled on to designing her own stationery for clients who were looking for something different from the standard stationery offerings. Moreira is a world traveler and draws her design inspiration from the many countries she has visited. Moreira has created a unique and modern stationery and invitation line that is refreshing to the stationery/paper connoisseurs.
Currently, she has designed chunky pads (containing 365 sheets) that are great for a special gift or to keep on your desk for note taking. They contain a gorgeous cover that can be personalized with your name and/or monogram, as well as various patterns, colors and edge printing which is the hallmark of her tailor-made stationery line. I actually purchased these for the hostesses of my bridal party lunch during my upcoming wedding weekend. I got the grey/silver Jaipur print each with the hostess’ names on the cover. I know it’s a gift they will be sure to love.
In addition, she has designed slim note card sets of (120) that has a matching envelope liner, a folded note set, gift enclosures, and placecards that retail from $22.00 to $65.00. Atticus Paper is exclusive to Houston store Events in River Oaks and has its own pattern called Jaipur that was inspired by a trip that Moreira took to India.
Events is undergoing a revamp, and the Atticus Paper line is just one element of the many fabulous new collections that they are bringing in as part of their transition.
