A One Stop Shop for All Things Stylish

A couple weeks back, Roz and I visited the home goods, accessories, and apparel store Saint Cloud, which is located in Rice Village. By no means is it a new store. It’s been around for almost 2 years, but surprisingly enough, I had never been in (Roz had, but not me). Shocking! I had always wanted to go in, and how I never did, I’ll never know. Because I can confidently say it is absolutely one of my favorite stores in Houston. It’s a special one.

It’s basically a one stop shop for all things stylish. Saint Cloud is home to fashion accessories, home accessories, gift items, jewelry, greeting cards, apparel, makeup, even chocolate (!!)…a very well curated selection.

You’ll find lines, such as Pamela Love, Clare V, Prism London, Jerome Dreyfuss, Lizzie Fortunato, LemLem, Outdoor Voices (incredible activewear brand from Austin; only store in Houston to carry it), and many more. A lot of the brands and designers you’ll see in Saint Cloud you won’t find many other places. The assortment is full of unique pieces, many unknown (which I, personally, love).

Aside from apparel, handbags, and jewelry (gorgeous jewelry), their home section might be my favorite part of the store. Walls of decorative pillows, tables full of adorably stylish accessories, and endless options. And don’t forget about the chocolate. Roz and I might have stocked up on one too many bars, but how could we not?! Saint Cloud is the only store in Houston to carry Compartes chocolate bars, and if you aren’t familiar with them, they are basically chocolate filled with any sort of snack you love (i.e. – donuts & coffee, breakfast cereal & milk, and popcorn…my favorite).

On top of all the beautiful accessories and apparel that fills the store, they offer gift wrapping, and they have a limited (but spot on!) assortment of greeting cards. Like I said, it’s a one stop shop. Not only can you shop for yourself in this little slice of heaven, but you can find gifts for all ages and styles.

Roz and I didn’t want to leave! We made ourselves comfortable and chatted with Cecilia Marquez (Co-Founder, with Jessica Rodriguez) and Julie Cushman (Store Manager) for quite a while. We had to eventually leave because if we didn’t, I would have purchased far too much (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing).

Cecilia and Jessica decided to open Saint Cloud (in 2013) because they wanted to bring a retail space to Houston that carried brands and items you wouldn’t find everywhere else. ‘We founded the store with the belief that Houston is a great city and should have equally great retail shops.  Jessica and I had both travelled extensively for work and found ourselves saving our shopping for when we were gone.  We felt like there was a huge opportunity in Houston to bring lines to the city that were not being sold anywhere else, and this has always been our focus.  Our whole team is passionate about design, travel, art and architecture and this is where we seek our inspiration,’ says Cecilia.

If you haven’t been in (again, I’m not sure how I never made my way over there until now!), I highly recommend you do so. It has the My Red Glasses stamp of approval all over it!
