Time “To Play” with Jouer Cosmetics

One of my all-time favorite pick-me-ups has always been a new makeup palette.  I just love the concept of all my products and colors in one place, and after all, what’s not to love?  Except that it seems all the products are mostly sample sizes, my powder eye shadow always seems to migrate into my lip gloss and there are always at least two shades I would never wear because they appear to be created for a Vegas showgirl.  Okay, maybe I only loved the IDEA of a makeup palette, that is until Roz and I met Christina Zilber, founder of Jouer Cosmetics, who has led the way to making palettes personalized and user-friendly while eliminating all of those pet peeves we hate.  Her philosophy of “minimal fuss, high impact…where fashion meets function” should be awarded a gold medal in the category of beauty

Christina explained to me that when she set out to create Jouer (which means “to play” in French), her goal was to keep it simple by offering effortless, easy-to-wear shades in good-for-you formulas.  She wanted women to see the brand as “approachable beauty.”  That alone would have made me a fan, but then she went the extra mile by creating a packaging system that turns any number of products into a personalized palette by interlocking the backs and sides of the components.  The beauty gods had answered my prayers!  Now I’m hooked, literally, on Jouer and have an entire palette of products and shades that I hand-selected for my individual, custom kit.  Another bonus?  I’m never digging in the bottom of my handbag anymore looking for my Lip Gloss.

I feel inclined to share with you a few of my personal favorites from the line, whose Luminous Moisture Tint made history when they recently won the Allure Best of Beauty Award over Laura Mercier’s coveted Tinted Moisturizer. I’m in love with the matte version, which just launched on August 1^st.  It has a bit more coverage, hydrates, protects my skin with SPF and still gives a healthy lit-from-within glow.  Another favorite is the Lip Enhancer, a buttery smooth lip conditioner containing ingredients that increase the fullness of your lips while minimizing fine lines.  My ultimate love is the Jouer Body Butter – a luxurious moisture whip that envelops skin with a luscious trinity of Jasmine, Gardenia and Honeysuckle fragrances.  Ooh la la!
