For me, the holiday season was finally here and what made this year’s season complete was the return of one of my favorite events, The Social Book’s Houston Treasures Awards Gala, held this year at newly renovated Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa. What makes this event so special is that on this night, Houston’s philanthropists and all-around movers & shakers, gather, not to donate to a favorite cause as so many present do so often throughout the year but are there to be treated to a fun evening and an amazing dinner and to celebrate their colleagues’ social and cultural accomplishments.

About The Social Book/Houston Treasures: The Social Book is in its 26th year of publication, being spearheaded by its creators, Scott Evans and Warner Roberts. The Social Book has provided many of us with a go-to calendar of charitable events, a resource guide and a general “bible” for all things social in our city. The “Houston Treasures” awards gala was created by Warner Roberts in 2004 and is celebrating its 18th year. The purpose of this distinct honor is to recognize their extraordinary accomplishments benefiting the Houston Community. The award honors individuals and couples in the fields of philanthropy, volunteerism, medicine, arts, business, sports, politics and media. A special Legendary Houston Treasures Award, recognizing exceptional accomplishments were awarded this year to Lilly Andress, Linda McReynolds and Jeanie Kilroy Wilson.

Honorees were commemorated in video tributes by previous recipients of this very special award, that followed by brief live presentations to honorees on stage.

Following are some highlights from the evening of 200+ guests who were treated to an always fun and lively cocktail reception upon arrival, greeted by Santa Claus himself, that followed with an awesome four-course dinner in the ballroom.

More Houston Treasures……

What a great night this was……thanks to Scott, Warner, Jeff, Sami, Houstonian, and all of the many players in Scott’s army that pull this off every year. We had a great, fun table and all agreed it was the best one yet and can’t wait until next year!!!

Yours truly and table partner, my friend, Vicki Rizzo……had the time of our lives!! Thanks again, Scott Evans
