Chunky heels…..chic style with a comfy twist

I love it when TV shows, particularly ones that I like, take on current issues and write them into their script.  One of my favorite shows is Madam Secretary which comes on Sunday night and Elizabeth McCord, our Secretary of State, covers many current political issues. However this Sunday, in speaking with her daughter who just signed on to the school paper as a writer of fashion and beauty, the daughter declares to all in the kitchen that she just can’t understand “why we keep giving block (chunky) heels a chance?”.  To this M.S. replies that she wears block heels and her hubby pulls a safety and says, “I think you look great in block heels”, after making a negative comment about this popular shoe style! He clearly doesn’t run all over our capital trying to wear stilettos?!

I loved it as I just returned from NYC where wearing my Elaine Turner block heels literally saved my feel and possibly my life as I walked the city during Bridal Market week.   I had bought them under Elaine’s direction last NYFW when she assured me, that the investment would put a smile on my face and not the usual frown from aching feet…..she was right! Comfort had become part of my vocabulary as I described my newest shoes.

Trust me, I still believe that there is nothing more flattering to a ladies leg than a beautiful stiletto pump, but let’s face it after seasons of towering heel heights, there is no wonder that sensible heels look so fresh and right with the retro-70’s fashions that are so prevalent.  From a practical standpoint, we ladies are busy gals and may take to the streets often and need to hit the pavement on solid ground, which is where a stylish, chic chunky heel comes into play.

Chunkier heels are right for the flared jeans, longer and midi length styles. Look right in sandals, day and evening, pumps and great in all lengths and heel heights of boots for Fall.  Let’s face it, Ankle Booties are the easiest thing to put with everything from the short, stacked heel Chelsea Boot to the edgier, Moto Boot.

So take a scroll down below and see why the hottest shoe of the season or in this case, the hottest heel, a truly good investment as the sandal versions are already available  for Resort 2016 and will continue into Spring.
