Cotton Club Collection….a Grand Evening to Re-open Its Doors

*Feature-John Maguire and Jennifer CunninghamNew co-owners of Cotton Club Collection, John Maguire and Jennifer Cunningham, as they celebrated their grand re-opening of their doors to this longtime shopping spot to enjoy a breakaway night of fun, and socializing for many of our city’s fashion crowd.

As a long time customer of Cotton Club Collection under the previous regime, I was thrilled to hear that when Lisa Spain was ready to sell her store after building it for 28 years to retire to the good life of travel and lots and lots of golf, she had chosen such a special duo. I have also known Jennifer and John for most of their 22 years in retail.  They are both two people that are retail naturals….born to the business and very good at what they do. The party was the unveiling of months of strategizing and experimenting on what they feel to be the right approach for their customers and looks like they’ve succeeded.  Lots of great things to buy and what a great party!

Below, some photos of the newly renovated boutique and what’s new from the Co-owners on their plans for going forward…

*Room 3One of the areas that makes Cotton Club Collection so special is its curated, artisanal fine jewelry gallery, featuring designers that are exclusive to Cotton Club. Above, the entrance to the store is their infamous jewelry world.  Featuring exclusive designers Todd Reed, Fern Freeman, Pamela Froman, Lika Behar, Sethi Couture and Suzy Landa to name key players.

Each room is merchandised with a point of view, always keeping in mind its very own  approach to dressing.  To quote co-owner Cunningham, “Our goal is to be Houston’s  coziest women’s boutique specializing in unique, casual luxury and highly personalized service. John and I are constantly scouting lines that are only available at Cotton Club Collection. We will continue to offer brands that our customers love (Lilith, Porto, Sarah Pacini and Stella Carakasi) while constantly trying emerging designers. John and I both love color, whimsy and shine so you will see more of those qualities in the merchandise selection.”

Cotton Club’s grand reopening party made for a chance for many, otherwise distressed and in some cases inflicted with the happenings of our town for the last month, to get out and celebrate and have some fun visiting with friends, while checking out the new digs.
