This is Julie Bortnick, of the fashion + lifestyle blog from prosecco to plaid, and I’m here on The Chic Sheet to talk to you all about one of my absolute favorite things…nail polish.

Nail polish is not just paint you throw on so you don’t have bare nails. Nail polish has become  an important beauty accessory, just as important as your handbag, jewelry, or shoes. Nail polish never goes unnoticed, and having a perfectly polished hand is an essential part of being a woman.

Fall nail colors are more tied in to fall fashions  than ever. All polish lines, at various prices, are carrying such great shades that will take you all throughout this coming Fall season.

Let’s talk color. Dark shades are back! Dark blue, dark green, dark purple/eggplant, and even black are some of the big ones. Jewel tones are huge, as always. Reds are(and may always be) very popular this time of year. Finally, let’s not forget about metallic (from gold to silver to bronze and those in between).

OPI’s new Fall line is the Germany collection. A whole spectrum of colors, such as Don’t Talk Bach To Me (deep mustard), Every Month is Oktoberfest (fabulous purple), and Danke-Shiny Red (perfect red) fill the line.

Stylenomics is Essie’s Fall line. How cute and clever of a name is that? From Skirting the Issue (think the color of Merlot), to Head Mistress (fierce red), to Stylenomics (bold, dark green), the colors are stunningly beautiful.

Deborah Lippmann’s new line is all about brights. From outrageous orange (Hollaback Girl) to flaming fuschia (Nasty Girl) to sassy salmon, below (Party Girl). All colors are fair game and ready for a night out.

Gold (Gold Fingers) and Black (Brilliance Extreme) are a couple of the colors taking over at Chanel for Fall nails.

As you can see, each color is better than the last, and nails this season are going to look more fabulous than ever.

Don’t be shy with your manicures this Fall. Go for the bold, go for the color, and glam it up. Stray away from the light colors, and really stand out this Fall when it comes to your nails. No color is ever too much.
