Runway stars of the night….original winning design on model, student designer, Natthankan Chompuwiset and her muse, Jessica Rossman, one of several local celebs to strut the runway for LBDD.
Year-long 2014 LITTLE BLACK DRESS DESIGNER competition had its Grand Finale/Reveal at Fashion Houston opening night with Designer/Muse presentations that brought cheers and excitement from the crowd. It was the final presentation for the 10 winning designers from the May 21st announcement event at House of Blues. Each designer spent a summer-long apprenticeship where they have perfected and remade their dresses taking them from the runway to the real world. Each student designer worked with each of their designated, celebrity-muses on the design update. The end result was that each took their LBDD competition design and made it to the specific taste, likes and fit of their muse. The end result was best shown in the trio runway presentation where the original design was shown on the professional model, the designer was highlighted as she/he escorted their muse in the updated version of their style. It was both fun and exciting for all to see the finished product! Reminder that the top Houston student designers were awarded a portion of more than $35,000 in scholarships.
