Grammy Awards Fashion Red Carpet 2020……Always a Night of Edgy Fashion

Billie Eillish won the night, musically and her touches of bright green from her custom Gucci ensemble to her bright, bold tresses made her a stand-out of the evening

The Grammy Awards are always fun to watch……certainly from a music point-of-view as I find it my source to keep up with the ever-hip music scene which I must admit is tougher for me to stay on top of these days. Of course, I love the fashion as well, as the Grammy’s always have a unique take on fashion…..that fine line of some very high end fashion from many of the top names in fashion from around the globe, to just a dose of outrageousness that puts many of its music stars over the top. Sunday night was no exception.

Ariana Grande in a pale grey gown of endless tulle designed

Ariana Grande definitely got my attention as she changed repeatedly from one billowing gown to another……all in shades of grey, her obvious choice for the evening. I found it interesting how she chose to move from one gown to the other but not really dramatically change her look from each!!!

Alicia Keys, was the host for the Grammy’s, which are held in Staple Center each year. For those of you that may not have watched the opening, she was given the very difficult task at the very last minute of altering the opening of the show to the topic that was weighing so heavily on the minds and in the hearts of all that were watching. Kobe Bryant’s death had barely been announced earlier when the show had to go on as scheduled. For those in attendance, it was particularly hard as the event was held in Staples Center, home for the Lakers and as she said in her very moving opening remarks they were “gathered in the home that Kobe built”. She did a remarkable job of addressing the crowd and as she has said, gathered her friends Boys II Men, who were backstage and together they paid tribute to Kobe with the song, “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday”.….a night none of us will forget, thanks to Alicia!
