With Haute Hippie, the 1st Time is the Charm, as She Debuts her First Runway Show to a Wowed Fashion Houston Audience

I first met Trish Wescoat Pound when I interviewed her for a story for The Chic Sheet back in March of this year. (see The Chic Sheet story). She impressed me with her high energy, creative spirit, as this Oklahoma native, spoke of her years in the business working the wholesale/merchandising side for such notables as Calvin Klein, Theory, Michael Kors and as President of Liz Claiborn Contemporary Collections.  It was 2008, when Trish made the decision to make the plunge into developing her own concept and the Haute Hippie Bohemian Luxury Collection began in Trish’s own NYC apartment.  The rest is history as she built this collection, along with hubby and CEO, Jesse Cole, into one of the fastest growing contemporary collections, sold in over 300 stores.  It’s been a fast ride and the results each season are always amazing!

It was great to chat with Trish at Tootsies this past week.  Tootsies, not only sponsored her appearance at Fashion Houston but also hosted her Holiday Collection Trunk Show and P.A. that had so many desirables there that I had to make purchases and with the expert guidance of Trish herself, put together a look I will love wearing!

Her Spring Collection, inspired by Greek Mythology and Persphone, daughter of Zeus and Demeter was known as the Goddess of Spring and Queen of the Underworld, making for very interesting contrasts in the designs, colors, fabrics, etc.  The colors are neutrally based with some soft blush, my favorite for Spring, Reds and Corals and lots of black and neutrals.  I am particularly fond of a black and white floral print…..knowing that I am not a print person, Trish assured me that I would like these prints!  Post-show I confirmed with her that she was right……I got it and you will too.  Visit Haute Hippie website to see more.

Crochet dress in nude and coral with fringe details; bold coral leather capri pants, a great complement to blush cropped jacket2Nude in color, beaded by hand, this jumpsuit and free flowing, wrap evening gown were absolutely exquisite 3Black is the color of night in capris that get glitzed up and an all-over beaded dress with lots of fringe movement and almost a flapper detail 4Black and white floral prints, alone or softly layered and with an addition of a tailored black overcoat
