Looking Good While Getting In Shape. New Fitness Apparel Line: DYI

1

Julie Bortnick here today, and I don’t know about you, but I ate far too much while home over Thanksgving. From the turkey to the stuffing to the one too many slices of apple pie and glasses of wine, I think it’s time I detox. To get me in the mood to hit the gym and get back into a healthy routine, fashionable and functional workout attire is a must. Lucky for all of us who are in the same boat, there is a new fitness apparel line that recently hit the market, and Roz and I are big fans. 2

DEFINE body & mind has introduced a collection of fitness apparel named DYI – define your inspiration. Different than your ordinary workout gear, DYI is defined as a mindset, a philosophy, and a movement combined together with high technology fabrics and innovative designs. Henry Richardson (Founder and Senior Instructor of DEFINE body & mind) and Leslie Denby (DEFINE Retail Director and DYI designer) are not only siblings, but now business partners. The brand came about from a conversation about what inspires people to move, live healthy and more wholeheartedly. 3

‘DYI is a cross-over apparel concept that services fashion, function, and well being,’ said Richardson. ‘Our goal is to deliver a product that inspires people to move and live to their fullest potential.’ 4

The three categories DYI focuses on for both men’s and women’s apparel are: high performance wear (created from a super lightweight, technology enhanced, moisture wicking fabric that allows users to increase their output safely and comfortably), strength wear (seamlessly blending fashion and fitness priorities and features soft, light weight, moisture absorbing materials in attractive cuts that will stay in place during various movements), and mind wear (comprised of pieces that are designed to keep comfort and style in the forefront with designs created from soft, luxurious fabrics). 5

DYI’s first collection, Fall 2013, has a color palette full of neutral tones, including nude, olive, grey, and black. Prices range from $42 to $88. 6

Where to purchase DYI: www.definebody.com or at any DEFINE body & mind location (seven franchise locations, six of them in the Houston area). 7

I’ve gotten a chance to feel the product and see it in person, and let me tell you, I absolutely love it. There’s nothing better than a supportive and functional, yet totally fabulous looking, piece of fitness apparel. This is motivation enough to get to the gym, just in time for the new year. 8

Make sure to follow DEFINE body & mind on Facebook and Twitter, and check out their website for a studio near you. 9Leslie Denby and Henry Richardson at the launch event on November 14 at the River Oaks location
