In a season that has been a-buzz with Bold Color and Soft Pastels, the time has arrived to step out in the color that dominated the runways back in September…the number one non-color, color for Spring/Summer 2012 that ruled the runways was WHITE. Shown newest, White-on-White. You could also never go wrong wearing it as Black & White or as the crisp neutral against a pop of color!
Seen on the runways of such notables as Vera Wang, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, DKNY and in a big way at Giorgio Armani. Most designers went one of two ways with this color trend……crisp & tailored as at DVF or Stella McCartney or soft and angelic in sheers and lace from Giambatista Valli, Chloe or Dolce & Gabbana. Also, don’t forget leather, nothing is cooler in summer than white leather dress or short!
In fact, having been in NYC last week I was amazed at the big stores like Bergdorf Goodman and Bloomingdale’s that devoted all of their windows to White. Madison Ave. where are all of the high-end designer boutiques seem to be bouncing back in a very big way, had several of their designer windows done exclusively in WHITE. At Armani, Calvin Klein, Valentino (temp. location) and many other smaller boutiques, purest head-to-toe white dominated the entire window landscapes.
