In a time where the world has turned upside down and it’s a struggle for various businesses across all industries, it’s amazing to see local retailers coming together to support each other. You know we are all about shopping local and supporting our incredible Houston-based businesses and stores, and we absolutely love what M.Penner is doing to bring them all together this holiday season.
Holiday windows are the most exciting windows in the retail space. And this year M.Penner decided to deviate from the “traditional” route of window dressing and decided to bring in their retail partners. They reached out to friends in the community who own shops and restaurants telling them they had a message to get out and to please send on over shopping bags.
In each of M.Penner’s four windows, they are showcasing Houston retailers and restaurants to help get out some important messages: Shop Local, Support Small Business, We’re In This Together, and Thank You.
It’s heartwarming and meaningful, especially in 2020, and we are thrilled to see all our favorite Houston spots coming together to support each other.
We wanted to share a few words from M.Penner –
Shop Local: Choosing to spend locally allows money to be cycled back into our community, which means you are helping to boost the Houston economy. This creates opportunities for local businesses to give back by supporting local charities, arts, schools, sport teams …
Support Small Business: Why support small businesses? Here are a few reasons: We add character to the community. We give you better service. Our employees are part of our family. We care about every customer who walks in our door. When we buy for our stores, we have specific customers, events, lifestyle, and our local climate in mind; we think that makes us better. We support other businesses in our community…
We’re In This Together: When you come to the store and we don’t have what you need, we don’t just say sorry; instead, we’ll pick up the phone and call Bill Walker, across the street, or Festari, Norton Ditto, or Manready Merc. to see if they can take care of you. And they do the same for us. Because what we all want is for our customers to be taken care of. We have wonderful friends in the locally-owned business community, including our competitors. We want everyone to succeed. We’re All In This Together.
Thank You: It’s been a tough year and the challenges of COVID have affected us all. We know that we speak not only for ourselves but for all locally-owned businesses in town when we say THANK YOU.
Thank you for your your calls, your texts, your emails, and your words of support and encouragement. Thank you for purchasing gift cards that you knew would allow us to keep our businesses afloat when we couldn’t open our doors. Thank you for shopping and referring your friends to us. And thank you for supporting us and all locally-owned businesses; we wouldn’t be here without you.
