Houston Cinema Arts Festival, 2016 Opening Next Week

2016hcaf_cmyk8th Annual Houston Cinema Arts Festival proves to have as diverse and interesting agenda as I’ve seen…..quite a film offering, guest artists, panels and women directors workshop

The Houston Cinema Arts Festival is about to begin its recently expanded run…..Thursday, November 10 thru Thursday, November 17 at various venues around the city.  This year the Festival will pay tribute to legendary cinematographer Frederick Elmes and “L.A. Rebellion” director Billy Woodberry and most exciting is it will shine a spotlight on independent women directors and other important panel discussions, including Texas Monthly. It will also be showcasing many critically acclaimed new releases that are already getting much award buzz such as LaLa Land and Jackie, personal movies with Houston ties such as Ella Brennan’s story and many more global talents and live performers.

Below are some highlights of  some of the ones we like, in order of their appearance in the festival, to see but there are many, many more. Please check out their website here for a complete listing and details of each screening, most specifically the schedule which includes venue and dates, time.  This is definitely a series of films and special events not to be missed.
