There are so many components to a wedding, big and small. However, I would say one of the most important and special parts is the gown. Julie here today, and I got married just about two months ago. Planning the wedding with my mom was, by far, one of the most incredible times in my life, and finding THE gown was the cherry on top. There is something so magical about shopping for your wedding gown.
I got my bridal gown at Joan Pillow Bridal Salon here in Houston, and every time I walked into that store for my fittings I felt like all the stress and craziness of the outside world just kind of faded away as you entered this gorgeous white bubble.
You can imagine my excitement when I heard about this never before seen bridal gown sample sale happening next week where Joan Pillow takes the helm, along with many of her best friends and finest stores in the business come together to sell their gowns! Granted, my wedding is over and done with, but I’m just so excited for those future brides who are wedding gown shopping and can now get theirs at a fraction of the retail cost. Talk about a major win!
If you’re looking for your bridal gown, I highly recommend checking out this sample sale. On August 16th and 17th, from 8am-6pm, at 4050 Westheimer in Highland Village, (the old Coldwater Creek space, across the street from Joan’s Salon) the best bridal stores in the country will be gathering together and selling their best collections (i.e. Monique Lhuillier, Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, Jenny Packham, and more) at 60-75% off retail price. It will be on a first come first serve basis. Only cash and credit cards will be taken. All sales are final. The sample sizes will be 8, 10, and 12. These bridal samples fit as a 4, 6, 8, and 10 for normal dress sizes. Brides are encouraged to bring 2 friends or family members with them to help them try on. And either wear a bathing suit or something underneath you don’t mind others seeing, as it’s in an open fitting area, for ease of shopping.
This first of its kind event, complete with these National Shop Owners from New York Chicago, Miami, San Franciso and many more, present to facilitate the selections, will be a fun way to find that perfect dress.
