Oscars 2018….Fashion Choices as Diverse As The Awards Themselves

This year’s award season has definitely been one to be remembered for the use of fashion to enhance a larger message from Hollywood to the watching audience and beyond.  Last night’s Academy Awards made it’s own fashion statements that were both personal to the wearer and definitely reinforced the #metoo/#times up movement that is being led by many of Hollywoods high profile women.  This woman-empowered movement  has raised over $21 million since its inception with the Golden Globe awards in January. The fashion attitude of the first “post-Weinstein” awards was definitely not a “black-out” as the Golden Globes had been but was as diverse as the show’s talented nominees, winners and presenters of the night.  As one of the founders of the movement has said as to their approach to this award show…”we want to take our message now beyond the red carpet”.

Color and sparkle took center stage….the women looked beautiful and were definitely all glammed up with beautiful gowns and precious jewels from every fine jeweler from Harry Winston to Chopard to Tiffany, Bulgari and many more.

For me, personally, I have been having a definite love affair with the color white and have been in search of my very own white gown for galas I have in my future.  In a night where black was hard to find and color and sparkle prevailed, the most awesome, sophisticated looks of the evening, for my taste, belonged to those ladies that chose White gowns to make their fashion statement.  Margot Robbie led the way in her Chanel but the other ‘ladies in white’ took it away. There were other standouts in some luscious hues as well….take a look at some of my favorites and please let us know your favorite as well!

Below are some of the biggest trends of the season…..
