There are certain places in Houston that truly belong to all of us…and Hermann Park is absolutely one of them. Whether it’s afternoons at The Commons with family, walks through the Japanese Garden, paddle boating on the lake, visits to the Zoo, or simply enjoying a beautiful day outdoors, Hermann Park has long been one of the city’s most special gathering places. So it was wonderful to see so many supporters come together once again for Hermann Park Conservancy’s annual Evening in the Park gala held on April 30.
Approximately 475 guests gathered in the heart of the Park for the evening’s festivities, which began at Lindsey Plaza where attendees, dressed in beautiful spring cocktail attire, boarded the always charming Hermann Park Railroad for a ride into the celebration. Guests were then welcomed near McGovern Lake for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and one of those absolutely gorgeous Houston spring evenings with the prettiest breeze in the air.

This year’s event honored Kristy and Chris Bradshaw for their longtime dedication and leadership supporting Hermann Park Conservancy and all that it continues to bring to Houston. Co-chairs Meredith Marshall and Rishma Mohamed helped create an evening that felt warm, festive, and deeply connected to the spirit of the Park itself.
Throughout the evening, speakers reflected on how meaningful Hermann Park truly is for Houston and how important it is to continue preserving and improving this incredible green space for future generations. Guests also heard exciting updates about upcoming projects including improvements surrounding Miller Outdoor Theatre, the North Lake Sanctuary project, and continued enhancements to the beloved Japanese Garden……all very exciting additions for one of Houston’s true treasures!
Following a beautiful dinner by Swift + Company, guests enjoyed treats fromCannolis by Mike before dancing under the stars near the Pioneer Memorial Obelisk…such a nice setting for the evening.
Most importantly, the event raised an awesome $825,000 in support of Hermann Park Conservancy’s ongoing stewardship and improvements to the Park……a wonderful reflection of just how much this space means to our city and to the many Houstonians who enjoy it every single day.
Among those attending were Meredith Marshall, Rishma and Akbar Mohamed, Roslyn Bazzelle Mitchell and Derrick Mitchell, Hallie Vanderhider and Bobby Dees, Phoebe and Bobby Tudor, Monica and Brad Radoff, Allison and Troy Thacker, Cece and Mack Fowler, Stephanie and Frank Tsuru, and many other familiar faces from Houston’s philanthropic community.
