En Vogue Celebrations Marking Milestones Houston Style…

Social Book celebrates its 25th year at Neiman Marcus celebrating its 50th and Honoring Page Parkes on her 40th

Celebrating the evening: Social Book’s Scott Evans, Page Parkes and Neiman Marcus GM, Stephen Brunelle

Oh what a night it was……when you have master-party man Scott Evans and partners: Warner Roberts, Jeff Henry and Sami Shbeeb teaming up, you just have to have a night to remember. That was the case when The Social Book celebrated its 25 years of publishing Houston’ premier calendar of events with a bash that included other partners that also had milestones to celebrate. Joining Social Book in welcoming 600+ guests to Houston Galleria’s Neiman Marcus and celebrating NM’s 50th anniversary in that landmark location was General Manager, Stephen Brunelle. Celebrating her own milestone and honoree for the evening was our town’s Page Parkes whose talent agency, Page Parkes Texas has been around for 40 years. As one of the many attendees that night who has seen these three entities grow over the years, it was truly a joyous night…….and so much fun!

VIP guests gathered prior to the main event for a private reception inside and outside of Neiman Marcus’ Mariposa Restaurant to welcome sponsors and cheer on The Social Book’s 2020 Houston Treasures, introduced by popular personality and founder of Houston Treasures, Warner Roberts.

As in all Social Book parties, champagne was flowing, and delicacies were aplenty. Live dance music drew partiers to the second floor where activities amped up with several food stations from many Houston favorites like Roma, Benjy’s, Local Foods, William Sonoma and Cakes by Gina to name a few. The music from Richard Brown and his orchestra played all evening and kept the crowd happy listening to an array of very popular party tunes. The entertainment highlight of the evening for me and many others was the collaboration between Neiman’s Stacey Swift and event producer Kat Creech that created a fashion show that showcased NM’s amazing fashions but also celebrated Page Parkes 40th anniversary with legendary models from the past making an appearance. Included on this escalator show were the likes of Lenny Matuzewski, Karen Payne, Marianne Green, Mariah Chaney and several others. The 15 minute fashion extravaganza ended with cheers and standing ovations.
