Another awesome night hosted by Fertitta family and designed Events Company, Richard Flowers at The San Luis Salute February 21, 2020.

At the main celebration, gala extraordinaire Richard Flowers of the Events Co. brought the effervescence of Scandinavian-inspired ‘Royal Ice Garden’ to life inside The Galveston Island Convention Center at The San Luis Resort’s stately foyer. Guests arrived dressed to the nines through an ice tunnel to the lounge where guests posed against ceiling-high wall sculptures and life-size ice sculptures of Nordic Vikings, and ice benches adorned with white faux fur throws. While marveling at icy cool décor, partygoers sipped cocktails from a lavish ice bar and enjoyed alcohol-infused sorbets perfectly frozen at -321ºF called the ‘Nordic Grogg’ with Bailey’s and Bulleit Frontier Whiskey and ‘Loki Lemon Lime,’ which was topped off headliner The Chainsmokers’ very own JAJA Tequila.

While the curtain arose, jaw-dropping guests entered to see an aerial violinist covered in crystals playing above their heads while The Big Beyond immediately took the stage amping the vigorous crowd. Stilt walkers, silver Elan dancers, and dueling DJs added to the non-stop entertainment throughout the spectacular icy night. As guests found their seat, they were dazzled to see a towering ice trumpet ice vase filled with large standing white calla lilies and a JAJA tequila shot shaker to get the party started.

The evening activities began, as always with the grand procession, featuring area dignitaries and the Duchess Royal Court…..the highlight of the night’s entertainment was Grammy Award winning duo The Chainsmokers who took the stage for a 75-minute show featured many of their Platinum hit tunes.

The fashionable crowd included, among others, the Momus President and his wife. Neil and Maria Bush, Dancie and Jim Ware, Frank Billingsley and Kevin Gilliard, Brian Teichman and Andrew Cordes, Stephanie and Ernie Cockrell, Julie and Steven Chen, Beth Wolff, Cheryl Byington, Vicki West to name a few.

The Mardi-party continued into the weekend following the Momus Grand Night Parade as the Fertitta children teamed up to host the second annual Parade After Party held at the San Luis’ Resort Grand Ballroom.
