Breast cancer is a battle we unfortunately all know too well, affecting countless families and loved ones. However, the Memorial Hermann Foundation Razzle Dazzle Luncheon reminded us that when we come together as a community, we can make a significant difference. The event raised more than $900,000 for breast cancer early detection and outreach programs at Memorial Hermann, including the Bobetta C. Lindig Breast Care Center at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. Early detection is key, and this center offers a state-of-the-art screening and diagnostic facility that provides patients with a relaxing, spa-like atmosphere.

The Post Oak hotel ballroom was adorned with stunning pink and orange florals, creating a perfect backdrop for the evening. Anne Neeson, the Executive Vice President and CEO of Memorial Hermann Foundation, welcomed the beautiful crowd and praised luncheon chairs Amy Pierce, Kristina Somerville, and Stephanie Tsuru for their significant roles in making the event a success. The luncheon’s previous honoree, Nina Hendee of Taste of Texas, gave the invocation. Honoree Tony Bradfield shared a touching message about the impact of cancer on our lives and how we can support each other and the institutions that care for us. It was a reminder that we are all in this together. It was heartwarming to see Honoree Whitney Crane and her husband, Jim Crane, fresh from celebrating a big Astros victory in Minnesota. They even had a special gift for every guest – a pink Astros hat that became an instant hit!

The most touching moment of the day was undoubtedly the live onstage interview with Featured Guest, lovely actress and activist Connie Britton, who shared her personal experience of losing her mother to breast cancer. She expressed her honor to be part of the event and her hope for a future where we gather for different reasons, as breast cancer is defeated.

As always, the luncheon offered creative ways to support the cause, including a live auction with exciting items. There were unique experiences like throwing out the first pitch at an Astros game, a special dinner and tour of the historic Texas memorabilia collection at Taste of Texas restaurant, stunning Buccellati earrings from Tenenbaum Jewelers, and a limited-edition Roki Design silk scarf featuring artwork by Houston artist Summer Lydick.

I was fortunate to see many familiar faces in the crowd, and it was heartwarming to know that we all came together for such a meaningful cause. See some more photos of the event below!
