Round Top Revisited: Brunch, Boots, Boutiques and Antiques

It had been far too long since I had been out to Round Top, and I was truly excited for a full day of shopping and exploring…and a rare chance to pull out some of my western wear from the closet, which I don’t do nearly as often as I’d like!

\We started with a lovely brunch hosted by my cousins at Mr. Larkin and Her New Tribe at La Petite Dame, where they were unveiling their SS26 collection…such a beautiful setting and the perfect, easy way to start the day! I had the pleasure of meeting the owners of Her New Tribe, and they were just as lovely as their necklaces, which were absolutely stunning. The morning felt relaxed, and it was wonderful to catch up, take it all in, and enjoy the presentation before heading out for the rest of the afternoon.

From there, we just made our way from stop to stop and enjoyed the pace of the day, which is really how Round Top works best. First, I wandered through Ellis Motel, then over to Modern Marla and Laura Goodson…each stop had something completely different and interesting, which is exactly why I love spending the day there. You never know what you’re going to find, and it’s fun to just take your time exploring.

At one point, we paused at Royer’s Pie Haven for a slice of cherry pie…absolutely delicious and just the perfect little break in the middle of the day. A sweet pause before heading out again and back into the mix of shops and treasures.

Of course, I also stopped into Kemo Sabe with a jewelry pop-up from Emily Armenta and Bisou Bisou…both are always worth a visit and you often find yourself lingering longer than you thought. There’s always something to see or something that catches your eye… I ended up circling back a few times to things I had passed the first time around.

I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner of House of Shan…their baseball and trucker caps with the small heart detail are simple and lovely, but even better knowing there’s a thoughtful cause behind them. The brand anchors in Austin Texas and gives partial proceeds to Heart causes……of course, something near and dear to my heart, I couldn’t resist ordering one! Moments like that always make a day feel just a little more special.

We ended the day at Boon & Co. for an early dinner of some midday noshes and salads……and by that point, after walking around in boots for hours, sitting down was definitely welcome! It always seems like a good idea in the morning, and then by the end of the day, your feet let you know just how much you’ve moved.

All in all, it was a full day, but the kind that doesn’t feel rushed……just moving from one place to the next, stopping when something caught our eye, and enjoying every minute. Round Top always delivers that little mix of discovery and comfort, and it was so nice to be back again……I’m already looking forward to the next trip!!
