Wisteria…..Newest In Home Decor Shopping Opens in Houston

Located at 3461 West Alabama is the first location outside of Dallas area and only second brick and mortar for this originally catelogue for home décor.

Houston has added to its collection of design destinations with the recent opening of Wisteria this month. This marks the second brick and mortar for the brand. Many Houstonians, myself included, have followed Wisteria since Shannon and Andrew Newsome founded the brand as a home décor catalog in 2000, and we are beyond thrilled to see the brand occupy such an aesthetically beautiful space in the Upper Kirby District. Wisteria’s design emphasis focuses on creating, finding, and mixing product design concepts from all over the world. The store has a curated selection of furniture, decorative accessories, lighting, mirrors, wall art, pillows, rugs, and tabletop items to express the company’s mission: “Wisteria exists to make the world a better place by creating beauty and meaning.”

The Minimalist Mirror, a beveled-edge mirror with aged, hand-painted finish frame. Happiness Pots of 3 are hand-painted porcelain with the Chinese symbol for happiness and covered in traditional eternity vines.

Wisteria’s new president Caryn Lerner says, “Wisteria has entered a new stage in our growth.  We are so excited to have our first store outside of Dallas in Houston.  We already have many wonderful customers in the Houston area who are familiar with our brand from our catalog and web reach.  We are bringing the Wisteria brand to life in a store for them and for the many new customers who have yet to discover us.”

A classic yet comfortable design, this club chair is upholstered in soft velvet for luxurious lounging. With a sleek brass plating and modern tapered legs, this chair adds a modern feel to any space.

The new 9000-square-foot space layout is categorized by themed areas such as uniquely designed pillows, stools, side tables, fabulous mirror walls, and lighting all of which are adorned by gifts and home accessories. Wisteria worked with Murphy Mears Architects of Houston to create a fabulous “destination” shopping experience for customers. A favorite area would have to be the central “greenhouse”, elevated by a skylight that brings the natural light from the Houston skies and greenery indoors. This intimate space will be used for future product showcases and special events such as designer showcases, trunk shows, how-to presentations by design experts, design celebrity appearances, and community events. Stay tuned!

Located at 3461 West Alabama. The new store’s hours will be Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday, 10AM-6PM; Wednesday, 10AM – 8PM; Sunday, noon-4PM.
