Athleisure-wear…..Is It More Than a Fashion Trend?

Athleisure wear is a term on many lips more and more lately for many reasons…..mainly because it has become more than a fashion trend but truly reflective of a lifestyle trend. It is a reflection of how we live! I don’t know about you but in the world I live in my active/workout wear, dressed up a notch has become my wear-to-work wear on many days. (not always as there are times when a more professional look is required). However, my closet is mostly “dress-up”, not limited to cocktail, and lots of leggings, and leisurewear layering pieces that have become my ‘running clothes’.

I googled the definition of athletisure and what I found was this: A trend in fashion in which clothing designed for athletic workouts at a gymnasium, referred to as active or workout wear is worn outside of the gymn to go to the office or shopping or other social occasions. That’s me and many of the people that I know………our casual/leisure wear is our active wear!

To drive this fashion lifestyle trend home, particularly this time of the year when we are all hitting the gym hard and more frequently…..and want to look good doing it, we have curated some of the newest, athleisure brands around for you to get to know. This does not take anything away from the Lululemons, Nike, Adidas, Underarmour and others that have maintained this look for awhile and are getting into this athleisure-groove as well, but we know that you know those names!

For those of us that have been around the fashion scene for a few seasons, it is the brightest spot in ladies sportswear these days and hey, it makes me feel good to just be wearing it, whether I make it to the gym that day or not!
